Yet he still reckons Sunday’s defeat at the hands of Queen’s Park was the lowest he’s ever felt in football.

The Gers star confessed: “It was probably one of the worst days.

“The disappointment was huge and unfortunately, as a football player, even though you don't want to, you sometimes have to go through these types of scenarios.

“It comes to my mind also the game against Iceland with Romania in 2020 when we had to win at home and we drew and we just missed out on the playoffs for the World Cup.

“There are those types of nights where you just go home and you just can't sleep for a couple of days.

“You just have to reflect, think of what you did wrong, what you can do better.

“They're not nice.

“The only thing you can do is react.

“Will that mood change instantly? Probably not, but it definitely helps when you go out there and you win constantly.

“That's the main focus.”

Rangers boss Philippe Clement must know he's bombproof after escaping the Ibrox axe

Rangers are 13 points behind Celtic in the league, 29 goals worse off and having lost the League Cup Final they are now out of the Scottish Cup.

Lose in Europe and their season will end mid-March.

This was Queen’s Park first victory against Rangers since 1948.

It was the first time they’d beaten them in the Scottish Cup in 143 YEARS.

Twenty five years after Super Caley went ballistic, it represented another cup shock for the ages.

Ahead of his side’s trip to face Hearts at Tynecastle, Hagi reflected: “You go through these moments, you don't want to go through these moments, but you do.

“Look, we went through probably everything that you'd expect in terms of meetings, personal meetings, discussions with the staff, with the players, everything.
