Aston Villa team news vs Ipswich confirmed as Unai Emery makes Watkins and Mings decisions
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has selected his side to take on Ipswich Town (3pm kick-off)
Unai Emery has named his Aston Villa starting XI to face Ipswich Town in the Premier League this afternoon.
He has made two changes from the side which beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 last Sunday. Axel Disasi makes his debut, replacing Ezri Konsa, as Ollie Watkins returns to the side in place of Leon Bailey, who isn't named in the squad.
Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio are both on the bench, as is Tyrone Mings after he overcame the knee injury suffered against West Ham last month.
From back to front, Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence of Andres Garcia, Disasi, Boubacar Kamara and Lucas Digne.
John McGinn operates in the double pivot alongside Youri Tielemans, while Donyell Malen plays off the right and Jacob Ramsey from the left. Morgan Rogers supports Watkins in attack.
Opponents Ipswich have lost their last four league games and have conceded 14 goals in that time following heavy defeats to Man City and Liverpool before a disappointing home loss to Southampton.
Villa have lost just one of their last 14 top-flight meetings with Ipswich, which was a 1-0 home defeat in March 1994, while they've tasted defeat in just one of their last 20 Premier League games against opposition in the relegation zone.
Villa XI: Martinez, Garcia, Disasi, Kamara, Digne, Tielemans, McGinn, Malen, Rogers, Ramsey, Watkins.
Subs: Olsen, Zych, Bogarde, Maatsen, Mings, Asensio, Jimoh-Aloba, Rashford.
Ipswich XI: Palmer, Tuanzebe, O'Shea, Greaves, Townsend, Phillips, Cajuste, Johnson, Hutchinson, Enciso, Delap.
Subs: Muric, Godfrey, Woolfenden, Luongo, Taylor, Philogene, Clarke, Broadhead, Hirst.
