Guglielmo Vicario made his Tottenham feelings perfectly clear upon walking into the dressing room ahead of making his injury return in a Premier League clash against Manchester United. The Italy international has missed nearly three months after fracturing his ankle in the win over Manchester City.
Fraser Forster and Brandon Austin both filled in until Spurs signed Antonin Kinsky in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old was superb on his debut against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, which saw him keep a clean sheet just days after joining from Slavia Prague.
However, he has struggled in recent weeks with goals conceded against Arsenal and Aston Villa, partly his fault. It must be noted, though, that he has made numerous saves to stop Spurs from losing games by more goals while also keeping out Brentford on their own patch.
Nonetheless, Ange Postecoglou will be delighted his first-choice goalkeeper is back available, with Vicario quite clearly sharing that stance. Captured by Tottenham's social channels, Vicario said: "I've missed this place a lot. Back in my spot. Big day."
Alongside the return of Vicario, Destiny Udogie and Wilson Odobert were back on the bench after missing a significant period through injury. James Maddison, meanwhile, has been put straight back into the starting XI after missing the last few weeks with a calf injury.
That has seen Dejan Kulusevski pushed out wide with January signing Mathys Tel up top and captain Son Heung-min on the left. While Postecoglou was able to welcome back several players, Ruben Amorim has been handed four Man United injury blows in the week leading up to the game.
