FA Youth Cup quarter-final details confirmed for Arsenal vs Manchester United
The U18s are looking to add to Man Utd's excellent record in the FA Youth Cup and are set to face Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
Manchester United will face Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals on February 28.
United's Under-18s recorded a dominant 5-1 victory over Chelsea in the fifth round of the competition last week and Arsenal now stand in their way of reaching the semi-finals.
Arsenal have confirmed the details for the fixture, which will be played on Friday, February 28 at the Emirates Stadium, and the highly-anticipated clash has been scheduled for a 7pm kick-off.
The event has been classified as a minor event by Arsenal and will be capped at a 9,999 attendance.
Speaking after the Chelsea victory, U18 manager Adam Lawrence said the prospect of playing against Arsenal at the Emirates in the quarter-finals had been "a nice carrot" for his players.
Chido Obi scored a hat-trick in that game and James Scanlon scored a brace. Obi made his first-team debut against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon and there has been excitement building around the young striker since he signed from Arsenal.
Obi already has seven goals in three Youth Cup games this season, which is the same number as Alejandro Garnacho scored when United's U18s last won the competition in 2021/22.
The 17-year-old will get the opportunity to play against his former club for the first time in the Youth Cup quarter-finals, which will add another element of intrigue to the fixture.
Garnacho starred alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Dan Gore when United won the Youth Cup in 2022 and the likes of Obi, Harry Amass and Jack Fletcher have been involved with the first team.
Ruben Amorim named seven youngsters from the academy on the bench against Tottenham due to injury and illness issues.
The Youth Cup is the most prestigious competition in academy football and United have won it more times (11) than any other club.
United's U18s won a historic treble last season and were the best side at that age level.
