AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez was branded a cheat after he was sent off during his side's Champions League clash.

The Italian giants were 1-0 up against Feyenoord at the San Siro when the incident occurred on the 50th minute. The France international charged down the left flank on the counter attack. The ball was laid off to him by Rafael Leao but instead of taking the ball in his stride he hit the turf inside the box.

The closest player to him was teenage defender Givairo Read who stretched a leg but was nowhere near contact. Hernandez remonstrated with Polish referee Szymon Marciniak who brandished a second yellow card for a clear dive. The full back was joined by a number of his team mates, including Kyle Walker, in begging him to reconsider for over a minute before the Frenchman accepted his marching orders.

TNT Sport lead commentator Paul Dempsey said: "He is in serious trouble here. It is a yellow on the night and Theo Hernandez's second. Hernandez is sent off for simulation. What a twist in the plot here tonight!"

Co-commentator Adam Virgo added: "What a call this is from the referee. It is a great call. I love seeing that now because you want that cut out of the game. That is blatant cheating. His reaction afterwards is saying 'I have been touched'. No mate you've not been touched. It is a certain yellow. Two yellows - off you go."
