'They think I'm stupid' - IShowSpeed calls out Jamie Carragher after brutal Thierry Henry review
Thierry Henry played against IShowSpeed during the Match For Hope charity match but did not think much of the American's ability on the ball while in possession
Jamie Carragher has challenged IShowSpeed to a race after the American streamer took umbrage with comments made by the pundit during Tuesday night's Champions League coverage on CBS. Speed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, was invited onto the show by Thierry Henry while at last week's Match For Hope charity football match.
The 20-year-old agreed, claiming there were some things they needed to talk about. Henry clarified what he meant by that remark on Tuesday, claiming Speed thinks he is quicker than the former Arsenal forward was during his playing career.
Carragher, though, did not know who Speed was, asking whether he was a player.
After receiving an explanation from Henry, host Kate Abdo and Micah Richards, Carragher queried: "So what would we get him on the show for? Does he understand football? Is he in football or something?"
Henry responded to the latter question: "I don't know if he loves football; he looked like he was having a debate with the ball when he had it [during the charity match].
Carragher, though, was still confused. "But what does he do? I'm lost here."
Henry then said, "he shows speed," to which Carragher replied, "Oh, he just runs?"
"So if he came on the show, what would he do? Just run?
While streaming, Speed offered his immediate response after watching a clip of what they said.
"What? They think I'm stupid," he said. "He talking smack. They need to put me on this show."
Richards then addressed Speed, looking directly down at a camera.
"Speed, please come on; I can't wait for you to meet Jamie Carragher; you'd be a great duo.
In response, Speed said: "Jamie Carragher... imma remember that name.
Clips from Speed's stream were then played to the pundits later in the show, to which Carragher claimed: "I'll have him a race."
