Michael Owen risked wife's wrath with lewd dog pic and question 'worth asking'

Former Liverpool and England star Michael Owen once risked the wrath of his wife by posting an extremely cheeky pic of his dog on social media

Michael Owen once risked his wife's wrath with a cheeky picture uploaded to social media.

Owen, 45, uploaded a snap showing one of his dogs with its head resting on his other dog's privates back in 2014 - adding: "I wonder if Mrs O will be so kind tonight!"


His then-three million Twitter, now X, followers had a mixed response. One wrote “best ever tweet” and another questioned whether he was of sound mind, adding: “Haha I can't believe you wrote that! Are you drunk?"


"If [you] were to pick one man to do something like that I think he would be almost last on the list," a third joked.

And another added: "Surely that's gotta be the most banter you've ever come out with in your entire life!"

However, his wife, Louise Bonsall, was less than impressed as he updated fans with a photograph of his wife sticking two fingers up at him, which he captioned: “Oh well, it was worth asking.”

Owen, not phased, was soon onto posting about darts.


Louise and Owen are childhood sweethearts and the couple first met in primary school while at Hawarden High School in Flintshire, Wales, back in 1984.

The former Real Madrid man got down on one knee on Valentine's Day in 2004, which is also Louise's birthday. Before they tied the knot in a small private ceremony at Garden Park Hotel in Chester.

They have four kids, with eldest Gemma earning fame in her own right when she appeared on Love Island in 2022. And under the Mallorcan sun ex-partner Jacques O'Neill admitted he had a crush on Louise.

In a game of Never Have I Ever, Jacques took a big swig of his drink when asked if he'd ever fancied a partners mum. Gemma, who looked mortified, said: "Oh for F sake..."
