Manchester United's victory over Ipswich Town was marred by a series of goalkeeping blunders from Andre Onana, which have raised questions about his future at Old Trafford.

Jaden Philogene capitalised on two errors to score his first Premier League goals, leaving United with a dilemma ahead of the transfer window.

The Red Devils have been linked with several goalkeepers since the match, but they face stiff competition from other European clubs also looking to bolster their ranks. According to GIVEMESPORT, United are considering a move for Burnley's James Trafford, who is valued at £30million.

However, they will have to fend off interest from Newcastle to secure his signature.

While Trafford is shining in the Championship with his clean sheet tally, his previous Premier League performance leaves much to be desired: Trafford is making the right headlines this season with his clean sheet record... in the Championship. United will do well to remember how poor the Englishman was in the Premier League last season so it's fair to say he isn't the answer.

In terms of current comparison, Onana is better than Trafford, so selling their current goalkeeper to save money would make little sense. Newcastle is the right move for Trafford, but United should steer well clear.

But, while avoiding this £30m transfer showdown, in other news, Espanyol's Joan Garcia has emerged as a potential target for Manchester United.

The stopper was linked to Arsenal last summer, and has emerged as a potential 'next David de Gea' situation for United.

Despite opting for Neto from Bournemouth instead, reports now suggest United are eyeing Garcia, who reportedly has a £25million release clause.

Espanyol's sporting director Fran Garagarza hinted at flexibility regarding the clause, and green-lighted the move: "If an offer comes close to the clause, we won't say no," he remarked.

"But if it's £5m (€8m), that would be a bad sale."

He further noted the club's stance for the upcoming transfer window: "In the summer, if a club meets the clause, then it's done. But if it's just below, we can discuss it."
