Ten photos from Everton Abu Dhabi training as players brave ice baths and warm weather
Everton have released their first batch of photographs from their warm weather training camp in Abu Dhabi

Everton have released their first set of photographs from their warm weather training camp in Abu Dhabi as the Blues squad enjoy a sunshine break after going seven games unbeaten in the Premier League. Despite being just one point above the bottom three when Sean Dyche was sacked last month, David Moyes’ men have now built-up a 15-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone and following their 1-1 draw at Brentford – their sixth February fixture in all competitions – the team are now taking advantage of some world-class facilities in the United Arab Emirates where the daytime temperatures are currently a pleasant 23 degrees Celsius.
Being put through their paces in a session against the backdrop of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Everton’s players looked in good spirits while Moyes was in the thick of the action, overseeing drills and wearing shorts but also a peaked cap to protect himself from the heat. At one point, both the Blues boss and captain James Tarkowski were also pictured wearing sunglasses while some of the goalkeepers cooled themselves down in ice baths while Jesper Lindstrom also, somewhat tentatively, had a go in one.
At another juncture, several of the squad were shown doing stretches on mats while Everton’s oldest-ever player Ashley Young – who celebrates his 40th birthday in July – seemingly pulled rank by being seated in an ornate chair.
