Leon King gets Rangers transfer exit green light from Barry Ferguson as Scottish Cup conquerors close in

Queen's Park are close to sealing a loan switch for the defender as he hunts regular game time

Queen's Park have launched a bid to sign Leon King on-loan from Rangers.

Record Sport understands Spiders are looking to sign the central defender before the loan signing deadline. and the 21-year-old has struggled for game time at Rangers this season. Interim boss Barry Ferguson is ready to sanction the short-term deal to allow the centre half to go out and get vital game time with Robin Propper, John Souttar, Leon Balogun and Clinton Nsiala in front of him. King, who has Champions League experience, has played only a handful of games under Philippe Clement this term.

Queen's Park boss Callum Davidson is hoping the deal will be done for King to make his debut against Raith Rovers. Celtic defender Dane Murray had an impressive loan at Queen's Park before he returned in January and King would be looking to make a similar impact and to push for a Rangers starting berth next season.
