David de Gea and a trio of current Manchester United players have shown their true feelings towards Marcus Rashford following his bright start to life at Aston Villa.

Rashford's stay at Old Trafford came to a likely permanent end in January after falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese head coach made his thoughts clear on Rashford and it eventually became clear the forward would not play for United until there was a major turnaround.

Initially, Rashford was keen to hold out for a move to Barcelona but the La Liga giants were uneasy about spending in the January transfer window. That's when Unai Emery implored the Villa owners to make a move for the winger and a deal to move to the West Midlands was agreed.

Emery has been careful not to rush Rashford into the starting line-up and his steady approach has paid off.

The winger has bagged three assists in six appearances and on Friday night, during the victory over Cardiff City, created six chances alone - as many in one match as in any match for United.

Following his new club's progression to the FA Cup quarter-finals, Rashford hailed the result on social media with a series of pictures accompanied by the caption: "Into the next round."

The latter has been performing well on his own loan spell at Real Betis.

Rashford will be expected to return to the Champions League on Tuesday night as Villa take on Club Brugge away from home in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.
