A forgotten former Premier League player has signed for a Slovenian club.

The star, 31, hasn't played a game for over a year, with his last action coming in Cyprus.

He previously featured in the Premier League for two clubs.

Last year the player joined Indian club Rajasthan United but his deal was terminated after less than three months after he suffered an injury.

The player didn't end up getting any minutes in India but will now hope to feature prominently for Slovenian second tier club Tabor Sezana.

He made over 100 appearances in the Premier League and scored 23 times.

Former West Brom striker Saido Berahino has signed for Tabor Sezana.

Berahino started his career with The Baggies, for whom he scored 36 goals in 121 games in all competitions.

In 2015 Berahino was left frustrated after a proposed move to Tottenham broke down, which led to him criticising chairman Jeremy Peace.

Berahino remained at West Brom until 2017, when he signed for Stoke.

While at Stoke he mustered just five goals in 56 appearances and then tried his luck away from English football.

A switch to Belgian club Zulte Waregem followed in 2019 and encompassed a loan move to Charleroi.

Following that, Berahino returned to England with Sheffield Wednesday, for whom he scored nine times in 36 games.

Next up for Berahino was a move to AEL Limassol, which saw a return of four goals in 44 appearances. His last game came in February 2024 against Apollon Limassol.

Berahino featured prominently for England at youth level and was named the Three Lions' Under-21 player of the year in 2014.

He subsequently switched allegiance to his country of birth Burundi and has scored twice in 18 senior international appearances.
