Liverpool are reportedly among three Premier League clubs ready to make a £37m offer for Atalanta BC forward Ademola Lookman.

Liverpool are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs prepared to offer around €45m (£37m) to sign Ademola Lookman in the summer transfer window.

Lookman has established himself as one of the best forwards in Serie A since joining Atalanta BC from RB Leipzig in August 2022.

The Nigeria international has scored 49 goals and provided 22 assists in 108 competitive appearances, including 26 goal contributions in 45 matches during the 2023-24 campaign, helping Atalanta win the Europa League, reach the Coppa Italia final and achieve a fourth-placed finish in Serie A.

Lookman has continued to play a starring role for Atalanta in the current campaign, having racked up 17 goals and seven assists across 30 matches in all competitions.

The 27-year-old's impressive displays have led to speculation about a potential move away from Bergamo, and rumours surrounding his future have grown stronger following his public fallout with Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini.

Liverpool preparing Lookman bid

Last month, Gasperini said Lookman was "one of the worst penalty takers" he had ever seen after he missed a spot kick in the Champions League defeat to Club Brugge, leading the forward to call the comments "deeply disrespectful" in a social media post.

According to Fichajes, Premier League leaders Liverpool are among three Premier League clubs willing to offer Lookman a way out of the Serie A club in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are believed to be willing to offer in the region of €45m (£37m) plus bonuses to prise Lookman away from the Serie A title challengers.

However, the Reds are set to face competition from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, who are also prepared to make a similar offer for Lookman's services.

Will Atalanta sell for £37m?

The attacker's Premier League suitors will be boosted by the suggestion that Atalanta would rather sell Lookman to a club outside Italy.

However, there is surely some doubt about whether the Italian club would accept a €45m (£37m) proposal for the star player in Gasperini's side.

A recent report claimed that Atalanta will demand around €65m (£53.8m) amid further Premier League interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Lookman will enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer, although Atalanta are understood to have the option to extend his deal by an additional year.
