Liverpool in talks over new Conor Bradley deal as contract negotiations stepped up
Liverpool are continuing to talk with Conor Bradley over a new contract after major first-team impression
Liverpool want to reward Conor Bradley for his ongoing progress with an improved new long-term contract. Negotiations continue to take place between the Reds and representatives of Bradley, who has emerged as one of the club's most promising youngsters over the last 18 months.
The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international only signed his most recent deal with Liverpool in December 2023. Since then, however, he has made his Premier League debut and become a regular in the first-team squad, first under Jurgen Klopp and now current boss Arne Slot.
Bradley, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring problem, has made 22 appearances this season after making 23 last term following a successful loan spell in League One with Bolton Wanderers the previous campaign.
While Bradley is under contract until the summer of 2027, Liverpool are keen to tie down the right-back given the ongoing uncertainty over the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold is out of contract at the end of the season with talks over a new deal having thus far failed to reach a resolution. Real Madrid failed in an attempt to sign the England international during the January transfer window and are favourites to sign the 26-year-old should he opt to leave Anfield.
Liverpool are continuing with attempts to thrash out new deals for top scorer Mohamed Salah and skipper Virgil van Dijk, who like Alexander-Arnold are at present set to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
And they have opened discussions with centre-back Ibrahima Konate with the player's current deal expiring in less than 18 months. Konate revealed in January he had been offered a new deal with the club. Andy Robertson and Caoimhin Kelleher are also now in the last 18 months of their contracts at Liverpool.
Liverpool boss Slot revealed last Tuesday that Bradley would be out of action for "a few weeks" after limping off at Aston Villa last month, with the defender now facing a race against time to be fit for the League Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley on March 16.
