Chelsea are preparing for their Europa Conference League last 16 clash against Copenhagen on Thursday (5:45pm kick-off).
Enzo Maresca's team will not have played for a week when they travel to Denmark, having last faced Southampton in the Premier League on February 25. The Blues ended a three-match losing streak with their victory over the Saints and will now be looking to take a commanding lead back to Stamford Bridge when they face Copenhagen.
Chelsea know that the Conference League is their only chance of winning a trophy this season, and having not won silverware since 2021, it represents an excellent opportunity to end their drought. Below are some of the latest headlines surrounding the Blues as well as a view on each one;
Transfer boost
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly preparing to slash their asking price for Chelsea-linked winger Jamie Gittens this summer. Sky Sports Germany claim that the Bundesliga side had initially set a hefty €100 million (£83m) price tag on the forward, but they're now said to be considering a reduced fee in the region of €60m (£50m) to €70m (£58m).
Isaac Seelochan of football.london says:"This would be a lot of money for a player Chelsea do not really need. Signing a new goalkeeper and centre-back should surely be the priority for Maresca's team this summer."
Subiabre monitored
Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly monitoring 21-year-old River Plate star Ian Subiabre. West Ham, Aston Villa, SL Benfica, and Villareal are also reportedly interested in the young Argentine winger.
Caught Offside claim that discussions have taken place with the player's representatives, but no formal offers have been tabled yet. The youngster reportedly has a release clause of €30m (£25m) and it is claimed that River Plate would be willing to let him go if this figure is met.
Isaac Seelochan of football.london says:"Much like with the signing of Estevao, this would be a player Chelsea would surely loan straight back out. Whether he would ever player for the Blues' first-team or just be sold on for a profit in the future remains the question if he did join."
