Cardiff City player ratings v Burnley as star man a real handful but others struggle on frustrating night
This is how the Bluebirds players rated against the Clarets in this midweek Championship encounter
Ethan Horvath 6
Couldn't do much about any of the goals, pretty comfortable otherwise. Made big saves to deny Josh Cullen and Marcus Edwards after the break.
Andy Rinomhota 5
Struggled a bit against Jaidon Anthony but didn't get a great deal of help, either. Couldn't break forward and was hooked at the break.
Perry Ng 7
Guilty, like others, of ball-watching for the second goal, but was also good with the ball at his feet. Moved to right-back and then midfield and improved.
Dimitrios Goutas 6
Another one culpable for the Clarets' second. Was a difficult night but needed his physicality at times. Always battles. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.
Joel Bagan 6
Put in a few lovely crosses, one of which Salech turned home. A dependable performer at the moment.
Callum O'Dowda 7
One of the brighter sparks in a blue shirt. Covered every blade of grass, helped out defensively, crossed well and played a crucial part in Salech's goal.
Alex Robertson 5
Struggled to get up to the pace of the game in the early exchanges, with Burnley's speed catching him out down the flank.
Sivert Mannsverk 5
Combative in there, as we've come to expect. Produced a horror challenge in the second half and was replaced at the right time.
Calum Chambers 6
Made a few interceptions and blocks early on. Kept it simple with the ball. Survived a big penalty shout against him in the second half.
Cian Ashford 6
Showed willing, was just one of those nights where very little came off for him against stiff opponents.

Yousef Salech 8 (star man)
Continues to show what a good investment he is. Hit the post early on before netting just before the break, his fifth goal for the club. Crashed a header into the crossbar late on, too. Real handful.
Subs
Rubin Colwill (Robertson 46) 7 - Worked hard and tried to spark something into life, but just missing that final action.
Will Fish (Rinomhota 46) 6 - Defended well enough but put a huge chance wide of the mark late on.
Aaron Ramsey (Mannsverk 61) 6 - Neat with the ball but his decisive passes just didn't pay off.
Anwar El Ghazi (Ashford 61) 5 - Showed some neat touches but was too careful in possession, but couldn't make a telling contribution.
Callum Robinson (Bagan 70) 6 - Sent a brilliant cross in for Salech, who hit the bar with a good header.
