Martin Zubimendi has the perfect chance to impress Arsenal after being declared fit to face Manchester United tomorrow night.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Real Sociedad midfielder in recent months, particularly in the January transfer window. Arsenal were first linked with Zubimendi last year, but the rumours went quiet in the summer with talk that Liverpool wanted to sign the Spain international.

In the end, Zubimendi remained at Sociedad and has since been tipped to complete a move to Arsenal when the transfer window reopens in the summer. For now, though, the 25-year-old remains a Sociedad player and will hope to be involved in their Europa League tie against Manchester United.

Zubimendi was withdrawn at half-time during Sociedad's 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in La Liga at the weekend with a suspected hamstring injury. That led to doubts that the midfielder would be available for the first leg of the last-16 tie, with an update now emerging on the reported Arsenal transfer target.

On Wednesday morning, The Times reported that Zubimendi was spotted taking part in training for Sociedad in the build-up to the clash against Man United. As a result, the midfielder is expected to be available to face the Red Devils on Thursday night after having an injury scare at the weekend.

Zubimendi continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal, with the player having a €60million (£50million) buyout clause in his contract with the La Liga outfit. Various reports have claimed that the Gunners will be the midfielder's likely destination in the summer, but it remains to be seen if those rumours have any basis of truth.
