Five WAGs that hate Manchester as Ruben Amorim's wife 'struggling to settle' at Man Utd
Ruben Amorim's wife Maria Joao Diogo is reportedly struggling to settle in Manchester, but she isn't the first foreign WAG to have this problem
What's not to love about Manchester?
Yes, it's wet, grey and windy for what feels like 90% of the year - aside from when it's freezing cold of course - although we have heard rumours that one or two days a year the sun shines.
But it's got plenty of culture and we don't just mean Coronation Street, with the northern city famed for its music, theatre, arts and architecture.
However, someone who isn't thrilled about being in the North West is Maria Joao Diogo, the better half of Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim.
And with reports that Maria is struggling to settle in Manchester - Daily Star Sport has a look at five WAGs who weren't the biggest fans of the northern city.
Maria Joao Diogo
Maria has reportedly not taken well to the north of England.
According to The Sun, rumours at the United training ground suggest that Maria is struggling to settle. It's another blow for Amorim, who is failing to get a tune out of his United squad.
Maria, and their two kids, followed the Red Devils boss to Manchester late last year when he swapped Sporting CP for the Red Devils.
Jorgelina Cardoso
Angel Di Maria didn't quite have the impact at Old Trafford that Louis van Gaal might have hoped - and he struggled off the pitch as much as he did on it.
His WAG, Jorgelina Cardoso, explained: "I didn't want to go, I told him to go alone. 'Let's go both of us', he replied... We were friends with Gianinna Maradona, Sergio Aguero's wife, and we travelled to Manchester on vacation for a year.
"It was always horrible! We came home and I said: 'If you're ever transferred, make sure it's anywhere in the world but England'. I didn't like it at all... I can tell you. People are all weird.
"You walk around and you don't know if they're going to kill you. The food is disgusting. The women look like porcelain."
Sara Gundogan
Sara Gundogan has the unique distinction on this list of living in Manchester twice.
And it was during her first stint she took to social media to blast the food scene: "Sorry, I’m sad to be honest but nothing. I tried so bad to find a good restaurant but horrible food everywhere.
"Can’t find a real Italian or good sushi or just fresh food… everything frozen. Restaurants here are focus on making money with drinks and shots like nightclubs, not quality food. Maybe in London but in Manchester nothing. I’m sorry."
However, she has since admitted she was wrong and even missed Manchester during Gundogan's short spell at Barcelona.
Georgina Rodriguez
Stunning reality star Georgina Rodriguez is the better half of Cristiano Ronaldo - and she admitted she was relieved to see the back of the city when her beau moved to Saudi Arabia.
In the third season of her Netflix show "I Am Georgina", she opened up on the testing year: "When Cris told me he was going to play for Al-Nassr, I was so relieved because I really wanted to leave Manchester.
"I knew something big was waiting for us and we were highly motivated. I was very happy to come to Saudi Arabia."
Lisa Muller
Thomas Muller might have pulled on the Red Devils jersey if it wasn't for his wife Lisa.
Louis van Gaal wrote a the journalist: "I tried to bring Muller to Manchester both in the 2014/2015 season and in the 2015/2016 season.
"In 2015 it would have been possible if his wife had been a little more open to a transfer abroad.
"At least that was the reason Thomas gave my assistant Marcel Bout, who had had all the conversations with him, why the transfer had been rejected."
