Glasgow City needed to come from behind before claiming a dramatic extra-time win over Hearts to claim their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Eva Olid’s side had themselves come from a goal down – Nicola Kozlova had opened the scoring for City – before a Bayley Hutchison double had put them in the driving seat. Lisa Forrest, though, levelled the tie in the 89th minute. Hearts’ task in extra-time was compounded by the dismissal of Lizzie Waldie after a second yellow.

It was City who had the impetus with Kimberly Smit scoring to send Leanne Ross’ side into the last four. Ross said: “Hearts were the better team in the second half but we showed great character to come back and get the equaliser."

They’ll be joined by Rangers, Aberdeen and Motherwell in Monday's draw. Holders Rangers were frustrated for long spells before they eventually saw off Spartans.

It took until the second period before Jo Potter’s side were able to break Spartans down with the goals coming from Camille Lafaix and Kirsty Howat in a 2-0 win.

“We knew they would come and make it tough for us because our previous game against them they banked off in a low block and frustrated,” Potter told Rangers’ website. “But the most important thing today was getting through this round and coming away 2-0.”

Motherwell defeated Boroughmuir 3-0 with Louisa Boyes, Katie Rice and Gill Inglis on the scoresheet. Scott Booth’s Aberdeen fell behind to St Johnstone. Holly McEvoy levelled before Toni Leigh Finnegan claimed a brace before Kerry Beattie added a fourth.
