Aston Villa host Club Brugge on Wednesday night in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie. The Belgian side were downed 3-1 at the Jan Breydel Stadium last Tuesday as Villa scored two late goals.

Leon Bailey opened the scoring for Villa inside three minutes, before Brugge equalised shortly after through Maxim De Cuyper.

After Tyrone Mings made a heroic goal-saving clearance to deny Hans Vanaken, Morgan Rogers’ cross from the right was turned into his own net by Brandon Mechele.

Matty Cash came off the bench to win a penalty, which fellow substitute Marco Asensio converted past Simon Mignolet.

Villa come into the second leg on the back of a crucial victory over Brentford in the league.

Robin Olsen made his first league start of the season, replacing the injured Emi Martinez.

Emery said in his post-match press conference that he hopes to have Martinez and Asensio available on Wednesday.

If he can prove his fitness for the second leg, Martinez will play from the off behind a defence which could be unchanged for the third game in a row.

Axel Disasi was excellent against Brentford last time out, winning man of the match. Ezri Konsa and Mings also impressed, while Lucas Digne kept Bryan Mbeumo quiet.

In midfield, Boubacar Kamara could make his first start since returning from injury after coming off the bench in the last two wins.

Youri Tielemans is expected to make his 42nd start of the campaign in all competitions. John McGinn could operate further forward, but his energy and bite could be useful in the final 30 minutes as Villa look to complete the job.

On the right, Cash could start after helping Disasi lock down the wing, playing from a wing-back role. Villa have a two goal lead, so Brugge will need to bag at least twice in 90 minutes.

Then, in attack, Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers could support Ollie Watkins up front.

Predicted Villa XI: Martinez, Cash, Disasi, Konsa, Mings, Digne, Kamara, Tielemans, Rogers, Ramsey, Watkins.
