Alexander Isak Arsenal's 'top transfer target' as Martin Keown makes Raheem Sterling point

Arsenal will have one eye on the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to upgrade his attacking options after Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz's long-term injuries.

Arsenal will face holders Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals but both teams had very different wins in the last 16.

The Gunners settled their tie against PSV Eindhoven in the first leg with a dominant 7-1 win. Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw in the second leg, but the result felt irrelevant as Mikel Arteta's side kept their hopes of silverware alive this season.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, needed a dramatic penalty shootout win over Atletico after losing 1-0 on the night, with the tie level at 2-2. There was some controversy on the night after Julian Alvarez's penalty struck a double touch, meaning it would not count.

The Gunners attention will be on the league before facing Real however, as they prepare to face Chelsea on Sunday (1:30pm kick-off). Below are the latest Arsenal headlines as well as a view on each one;

Striker 'intention'

According to journalist David Ornstein on NBC Sports, Arsenal plan to bring in a new striker during the summer transfer window and Swedish forward Alexander Isak is said to be top of their wish list.

Despite Newcastle's hefty £150million price tag and their firm stance against selling, Arsenal is said to remain undeterred.

Isaac Seelochan of football.london says: "It will be fascinating to see what happens with Isak this summer. The player himself may feel like Arsenal is an upgrade, but the reported fee Newcastle want is likely to be a major stumbling block."

Sterling point

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has praised Raheem Sterling for his performance during the Gunners 2-2 draw against PSV.

“Raheem Sterling was one of the ones we were anxious to see. In spells, he was excellent," Keown told TNT Sports.

“His involvement in two of the goals was probably the best football we have seen from him all season. And we are nearing the end of the season, so it has been a long time coming.”

Isaac Seelochan of football.london says: "It's good to see Sterling look a bit more like his old self again. If he can carry this form into the rest of the season then the Gunners may start to feel the impact of their injuries begin to subside."
