Alexis Mac Allister follows Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones in sending clear Liverpool message
Liverpool were knocked ou of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain
Alexis Mac Allister has called on Liverpool to dust themselves down from Tuesday night's Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and "go again" in this weekend's Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United. The Reds suffered just a fifth defeat of the season earlier in the week as they were beaten 1-0 by the Ligue 1 outfit.
Arne Slot's side were knocked out of the competition on penalties by the Parisians after the tie finished level on aggregate. For Liverpool, though, there is no time to dwell on the defeat, as they are in action at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as Slot has the opportunity to win his first piece of silverware as Reds boss.
Now, with a trip to Wembley on the horizon, Mac Allister has issued a rallying cry to Reds supporters ahead of the game. Writing on Instagram on Thursday night: "Disappointing not to go through but mourning is done and it’s time to go again on Sunday. Thank you for your support."
Mac Allister was the latest Reds player to speak out about the disappointment of Tuesday night's defeat, with unsuccessful penalty takers Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones also posting.
Writing on Wednesday, Jones said: "Stepping up & trying to help the team in every moment I can is the type of person that I am.
"This comes with risk and failing, last night I got a taste of that! I can live with missing but I can’t live without taking the responsibility. 10 to go. Starting with a cup final."
Meanwhile, Nunez wrote: "Get up and carry on, as always."
