Alan Sheehan to take training during international break ahead of crunch Swansea City talks
The interim boss is set for talks with the club's hierarchy next week
Alan Sheehan says he's been tasked to take training during the international break ahead of talks with the Swansea City hierarchy around the vacant manager's position.
Sheehan has been in interim charge since the sacking of Luke Williams last month, and had previously been asked to oversee the first the team up until Saturday's clash with Burnley.
That game, which the Swans lost 2-0, is now in the rear-view mirror, and there's clearly still some uncertainty over whether Sheehan will still be in charge for the trip to Leeds United in a fortnight's time. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.
However, it seems the Irishman will still be in the building during this international break, ahead of talks with director of football Richard Montague.
"I've been asked to take a meeting this week and take training on Tuesday and Wednesday and then we've got a couple of days," he said.
"There's a good few lads away in the international break. These are difficult periods in terms of getting everyone together on the training pitch. I think everyone's back in the Wednesday, Thursday before Leeds. So that's when you have the full group together.
"We'll have conversations this week with the football club about how they want to move forward. That will happen this week," he added.
"We need to have a conversation and see what's in place. Like I've said numerous times, I'm sure the football club is speaking to a number of candidates and applicants, and rightfully so. I think it's important the football club finds the right person to move forward with."
Swansea are potentially facing further upheaval at the end of the season, with news breaking this week that chairman Andy Coleman is set to step down from his position.

Whether that announcement will have any impact on Sheehan's future remains to be seen.
"No idea," Sheehan responded when asked if Coleman's exit might affect his chances of landing the job. "I think the conversation is with Richard this week to see where we are, but I don't want us to come away from how much of a positive period this has actually been.
"From where we were to where are. Sometimes we get bogged down by the performance today against a team that's going to probably be in the top two.
"It has been a positive period in terms of points, and in terms of what was asked and what we got. I think we've got more what was expected, and I think we've got to be positive about that really."
