Manchester United youngster Dermot Mee could be set to start against Leicester City this evening if Andre Onana fails a late fitness test.

United are already without second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir and third-choice shot-stopper Tom Heaton through injury. Ruben Amorim said of the pair last month: "Tom is making a recovery. Again, I don't have a day, but they [Heaton and Bayindir] are recovering."

With Bayindir and Heaton already sidelined, Andre Onana now faces a late fitness test ahead of United’s Premier League match away at Leicester City.

Onana was not feeling well this morning and United have made plans for either academy goalkeepers Mee or Elyh Harrison to start if Onana is declared unfit for the 7pm kick-off.

Mee signed a new contract at Old Trafford in August 2023. He was part of the young United side that travelled to San Diego that summer for a training camp and pre-season friendly against Wrexham but he didn't feature.

He joined the Reds in 2019 and has often trained with the first-team at Carrington, learning from more senior goalkeepers and supporting them.
