6 Rangers elites lapping up Celtic triumph from Calvin Bassey punching the air to Cantwell joining the party
The Light Blues won a five-goal thriller and the celebrations have been reaching far and wide
Calvin Bassey punched the air with delight after hearing Rangers had won at Parkhead.
The former Light Blues defender - who netted the club a massive fee when he left - was in action for Fulham as he helped down Tottenham and former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou in the English Premier League.
After the game, Sky Sports reporter and presenter Michael Bridge shared a video of himself breaking the news from north of the border to the full-back, who was delighted as he lapped up the news and shouted "Come on boys!".
Bassey was just one of a host of Rangers elites who expressed their delight online after the 3-2 win for Barry Ferguson's men.
Former boss Michael Beale took to his Instagram stories and wrote: "Go on the Famous. Excellent from Barry, his staff and players." He accompanied his post with clapping emojis and a blue heart.
His former players Todd Cantwell and Connor Goldson - who both departed in the summer as part of Philippe Clement's major rebuild - also made their feelings known with both players, now at Blackburn and Aris Limassol, sharing the full-time post from the club to their stories with Cantwell posting a blue heart and Goldson going for red, white and blue hearts.
Club icon Jorge Albertz also got in on the act by sharing a graphic with the message: "Well done the mighty Glasgow Rangers."
And Tom Stoltman, three-time World's Strongest Man, shared a post of him inside Parkhead on X with the caption: "Beautiful Sunday".
Hamza Igamane grabbed the derby day headlines as he climbed off the bench to bag the winner with just minutes left on the clock.
Rangers got off to a flying start and after the highs of dumping Fenerbahce out of the Europa League to book a last eight crack at Athletic Bilbao, they found themselves ahead inside four minutes after a header from Nico Raskin.
He had a key involvement in the second as he nodded James Tavernier's pass into the path of Mohamed Diomande, who made no mistake as he fired beyond Kasper Schmeichel to send the away fans into crazy celebrations.
Daizen Maeda hit back at the start of the second half before Reo Hatate grabbed the leveller with just over 15 to play.
But it was Igamane with a stunner who had the final say on derby day as Rangers capped off a big week under Ferguson.
The clubs now face a two week period until the next game with the international window underway. Celtic will host Hearts on the return at the end of the month while Rangers will face Dundee on the road.
