Nicolas Kuhn told how to recapture Celtic form, Gustaf Lagerbielke transfer confession - Parkhead news bulletin
It's your latest Hoops news round-up as Brendan Rodgers' men get set for a big final push after the international break
Nicolas Kuhn has had a Celtic season to remember - but his form has dipped in recent weeks.
The Hoops winger has 18 goals and 13 assists to his name to date including three Champions League strikes against Bundesliga pair RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich in a campaign to date that has punters putting him in the Player of the Year conversation.
His lightning form has went off the boil lately with Hoops hero John Hartson putting that down to the winger over trying. He has told Brendan Rodgers' key man he NEEDS to get back on it as there is still plenty to play for this season.
Fellow pundit Richard Foster - who joined the Hoops hero in the Go Radio studio - agreed that he is currently overcomplicating his game and trying to do too much instead of simplifying it in order to get back to his peak levels.
Hartson said: "For me Kuhn has been excellent all season but in the last three or four games he has been over trying at times.
"When it is not on to beat the player, you have to come back inside and look to go out the other side. Wait until you are in that position where you are one on one and can drive at the full back.
"I don't know the particular reason for it, but he needs to get back on it Because Celtic still have a lot to play for this season."
Richard Foster added: "With wingers, Nicolas Kuhn's job in the Celtic team is to score goals and be creative. He will largely give the ball away more than you'd expect a Callum McGregor or even an Alistair Johnston would do in those positions.
"What a lot of wingers fall foul of is they maybe don't beat the defender one vs one. So next time it is two vs one so they try and beat both.
"Then they don't win that and the next time becomes more complicated and more complicated. If you are not getting success, simplify your game until you build your confidence back.
"We all know Nicolas Kuhn can go past one, two, three players and score fantastic goals as we have seen him do it. John is probably right, he is probably trying to hard and complicating his game instead of simplifying it."
Meanwhile, Gustaf Lagerbielke reckons his chances of a full time switch to FC Twente hinge on one major factor.
The stopper is currently plying his trade in the Eredivisie and his form has won him a recall to the Sweden national team.
Celtic shelled out £3million for his services and top brass at the club will want to try recoup that figure in order to part ways.
He said :“If we go to Europe, Twente will have more money. The same goes if we sell any players. That will be up to the sports directors at the clubs. I want to play and I feel very comfortable in Holland. I can definitely imagine a future there.”
Elsewhere, Callum McGregor is set for a Celtic return after the international break. He missed the defeat to Rangers at Parkhead, but is gunning for a return to face Hearts at the end of the month.
