Alfredo Morelos blasted by his own boss as former Rangers star loses it after being branded 'fat'
The Atletico Nacional hitman received the ninth red card of his career after Medellin keeper Washington Aguerre mocked him
Alfredo Morelos has been blasted by his own manager for a lack of self control after the Colombian was shown the ninth red card of his career for reacting to fat jibes from an opposition goalkeeper.
The former Rangers star was giving his marching orders with a straight red card for an off the ball incident during Atletico Nacional's derby clash with Morelos' former club Medellin.
The clash finished 1-1 with Morelos seeing red in the last minute. It was his first red card for three years after being sent off for Rangers in 2022 in a match against Hibs at Easter Road.
The 28-year-old's highest season tally is five, which he accumulated for Rangers during the 2018/19 season.
The Colombian snapped when Independiente Medellín's Uruguayan keeper Washington Aguerre repeatedly made fat gestures to Morelos in a running battle between the pair before the 28-year-old snapped and took his anger out on an opponent late on.

And his manager Javier Gandolfi warned the fiery striker he had to be more restrained. He said: "Although Alfredo was clearly provoked, he has to show more respect on the pitch and behave himself. Both sets of players should have behaved better, actually."
And Morelos' teammate Juan Zapata hit out at Aguerre. He said: "This is a guy who doesn't know what the derby means here and seemed to want to take centre stage by making gestures at Alfredo.
"He had no business making those signs."
