'Quadruple mentality back on' for 'frightening' Chelsea after Women's Champions League win over Man City - Karen Carney

Chelsea sealed their return to the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-finals after they came from behind in the tie to beat Manchester City for the third time in four games. A 3-0 win put them through on aggregate and Karen Carney feels the victory will give them confidence in hunting down the quadruple. "They're not stopping, they're a train and when they're on it, you literally can't stop them."

Karen Carney believes Chelsea will have the quadruple firmly in their sights after they dispatched Manchester City 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
Goals from Sandy Baltimore, Nathalie Bjorn and Mayra Ramirez overturned a two-goal first leg deficit as Sonia Bompastor's side booked their place in the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-finals.
With the League Cup champions top of the Women's Super League and in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, Carney feels they are one step closer to completing a historic quadruple.
"The first 45 minutes, they absolutely blew Manchester City away and there was literally no response there," Carney said on TNT Sports.
"Look at their squad, there are players not even available, it's frightening. This team, the quadruple mentality is back on.
"They're not stopping, they're a train, and when they're on it, you literally can't stop them."
On Bompastor, Carney added: "She's probably feeling that pressure because she's inherited a brilliant squad from Emma Hayes, and then added players like Lucy Bronze, Keira Walsh, the list goes on.
"The staff have said, 'go on, we've brought you in, you know how to do it, go and get it done for us'.
"It's easier said than done just bringing players in, you still have to pick the right team, motivate them and get the job done. But like I said, that team will be in there thinking, 'we want that quadruple and we're not going to stop'.
"Lucy Bronze's mind will be ticking, 'quadruple, quadruple, quadruple'. It will, and you can see it now, they're a train and it's very hard to stop them."
Fellow expert Eni Aluko said that she had just watched "the Chelsea we know" and "the Chelsea who just get it done".
"It wasn't necessarily about tactics today, I thought it was about energy, the hunger, the desire," she said on TNT Sports.
"The front three for Chelsea were unbelievable. They set the tone from minute one. This is the Chelsea way. They just have a relentless desire to win, and it comes through in big matches."
Chelsea will play Barcelona in the last four, where the winner will face either fellow WSL outfit Arsenal or Bompastor's former side and eight-time champions Lyon.
