Nottingham Forest will take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals while Crystal Palace will face Aston Villa, with the ties taking place at Wembley on the weekend of April 26.

Palace have never won the competition before, while Forest's last win came in 1959 and Villa's in 1957. City have been in the last two finals, winning in 2023, and became the final club of the four to secure their passage when they beat Bournemouth 2-1 on Sunday afternoon thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush.

Villa reached the last four earlier on Sunday as they swatted aside Championship side Preston North End - the lowest ranked team who were left in the competition - at Deepdale thanks to three second half goals.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a close range finish, before the loanee then doubled the lead from the penalty spot and Jacob Ramsey rounded off the victory with a fine strike.

Saturday's two matches saw Crystal Palace see off Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage thanks to goals from Eberechi Eze, Ismaila Sarr and substitute Eddie Nketiah, before Nottingham Forest battled past Brighton in their third penalty shootout of this season's competition following a goalless draw. Bournemouth take on Manchester City in the fourth and final quarter-final on Sunday afternoon.

Rashford was delighted after leading Villa to their victory at Preston, and said he is enjoying his football again since joining the club on loan from Manchester United.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Rashford said: "It's a great feeling, I feel like I've been getting fitter and playing better football since I've been here. It's always nice for a forward to get a goal so hopefully, it continues.

"We have to take it one game at a time and give it 100 per cent on the pitch and see where it takes us. We're very ambitious. Step by step. I think I can still get fitter. I missed a lot of football before joining up with them. My body feels good and I'm enjoying my football for now."

Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo was equally delighted that his side won on penalties again at Brighton on Saturday, saying: "We are so so happy. It was such a stressful moment and to share it with our fans, we are so happy.

"Perfection doesn't exist but we did really well to control Brighton in terms of their possession. We did well. In the second half, we had chances. Both teams had a chance.

"I rely on the attitude and the reaction of the players, they are the most fair guys. We have to focus on the Premier League but it's going to be a beautiful moment for all of us on our journey."
