Newcastle United star Lewis Hall has opened up on his injury agony after missing out on the Carabao Cup celebrations at Wembley.
Hall was sidelined for the 2-1 win over Liverpool and the club initially stated he won't play again this season. Hall broke a bone in his foot during the 2-0 loss at Anfield earlier this year and has not featured since.
However, the left-back has made a positive recovery from surgery, and while he is still on crutches, he was able to lift the Carabao Cup in front of fans on the Town Moor. Hall could now be back for pre-season with this season running through until May 25 with a home game against Everton, but he did not rule out an earlier return with an open-ended but positive enough answer.
During the victory parade England international Hall said: "I am feeling good. Obviously I wasn't able to celebrate with the team. So being able to do it at the parade I was buzzing. I am doing well so hopefully I am back as soon as possible."
Head coach Eddie Howe was delighted to finally see Hall get his moment on Saturday night. The players had Facetimed the ex-Chelsea star from the Wembley dressing rooms on the day of the tremendous victory over Arne Slot's men.
Newcastle boss Howe said recently: "We're really disappointed for Lewis. We are devastated for him. He had so much to look forward to.
"He had the cup final and then internationals coming up, he was in really good form. It is a big blow for him and for us."
