12 Celtic players who could lead summer transfer exodus including £10m man
Brendan Rodgers is preparing for another frantic summer transfer window as he prepares for another Champions League assault
Greg Taylor won't be the only Celtic player heading for pastures new this summer.
Brendan Rodgers conceded at the weekend that the left-back is on the brink of quitting Parkhead, with fellow Scotland team-mate Kieran Tierney returning to his boyhood club as a free agent from Arsenal.
Taylor, 27, is out of contract at the end of the season and with Croatian cracks Dinamo Zagreb among the clubs circling, the defender looks set to move on after six trophy-laden years in Glasgow.
However, Taylor is just one of a number of stars who could be on their way out of Celtic Park as Rodgers prepares for another busy transfer window.
Here, Record Sport examines the 12 names facing uncertain futures with the Scottish champions.
Scott Bain
Now 33, it comes down to Bain's career ambitions. Is he happy picking up a wage as third-choice keeper at the most successful club in Scotland? Or does he have a burning desire to return between the sticks on a regular basis elsewhere?
Greg Taylor
Criminally underrated by a section of the Celtic support. Taylor has been a magnificent servant since his bargain £2million switch from Kilmarnock in 2019. Could depart Parkhead with 12 winners medals if Celts end the season with another Treble.
Gustaf Lagerbielke
The £3m Swede was quickly deemed surplus to requirements by Rodgers after a bomb scare showing at Ibrox and a Champions League red card away to Feyenoord. Has kickstarted his career on loan with FC Twente and the Hoops could recoup their money.
Stephen Welsh
The Celtic academy graduate has lived the dream at his boyhood heroes but it seems a parting of ways could be on the cards this summer. Currently on loan with KV Mechelen, the centre-back needs to be playing regular football at the age of 25.
Adam Montgomery
Surprisingly handed a new deal until 2027 at the end of last season, it's unlikely the versatile left-back will ever make the grade at Parkhead. Now in the fifth loan stint of his career with Queen's Park, the 22-year-old may look to find a permanent new home.
Hyeokkyu Kwon
Dubbed the ‘K League Rodri’ in his homeland, Kwon vowed to become the "best player at Celtic" and use the club as a stepping stone to the Premier League. Almost two years later, the midfielder has yet to make his competitive debut for Celts. He did catch the eye on loan at St Mirren last year, but the fact he's now out of the picture at Hibs means he may never pull on the green-and-white hoops.
Odin Thiago Holm
The Norwegian youngster, 22, is another who arrived with a promising reputation but has flattered to deceive. Farmed out on loan to Los Angeles FC in January, Holm has made just two sub appearances for the MLS side. Not great.
Reo Hatate
Perhaps the odd one out on this list, Hatate is one of the first names on Celtic's teamsheets. But with just two years left on his contract, the Hoops could look to cash in on the dynamic Japanese midfielder. The 27-year-old has never hidden his desire to play in one of Europe's top leagues and could attract bids upwards of £10m - a fee the Scottish champions kicked out from France in January.
Luis Palma
Palma has shown flashes of quality at Celtic but struggled for consistency. Despite his lack of game time, the Honduran has never thrown his toys out of the pram and has always been respectful of the club. Could land a permanent switch to Olympiacos if he impresses on loan in Greece.
Marco Tilio
The A-League's most expensive export confessed last month that he could quit Celtic this summer. Tilio - a £1.5m signing from Melbourne City - is back on loan at his former club after just an injury-plagued stint in Scotland.
Johnny Kenny
The Irish kid must've thought a window of opportunity would open at Celtic after Kyogo's winter exit. But the youngster has barely had a look in, with Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah ahead of him in the pecking order. A prolific loan stint at Shamrock Rovers means the 21-year-old will have plenty of options to move on this summer.
Daniel Cummings
The Scotland Under-19s striker is poised to join West Ham when his contract expires this summer. The teenage scoring sensation has stolen headlines with 29 goals in 34 games for Celtic’s B team and in the youth Champions League and made his debut against Aston Villa in January. But Celts are likely to see another one of their top talents pack their bags for England.
