Bukayo Saka is back in the Arsenal squad for Tuesday evening's clash with Fulham, but has been named on the bench.
Should Saka come on he'll be making his first Gunners appearance since sustaining a serious hamstring injury in the 5-1 win over Crystal Palace on December 21, after which he has missed 19 Gunners games across four different competitions.
The Gunners said: "After 101 days on the sidelines recovering from hamstring surgery, Bukayo returns to our matchday squad for the first time since December, providing Mikel Arteta with a useful weapon should he need it against the Cottagers."
Saka's usual spot on the right of the Arsenal attack is taken by youngster Ethan Nwaneri, who started in the front three alongside Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli.
Arteta had hinted at Saka's return prior to the Fulham game, but warned that his recovery is not set to be a linear process.
“Now it's about putting him in the grass in the right moments," said the Gunners boss. "But he's pushing because he really wants it. We have respected the time frame, we have done everything and we have to hold him back even. So he's ready to go.
“There is no a single player in that squad that has produced the numbers of Bukayo in the last three seasons. That's it. So that's him. We have remained very, very competitive without him and without many other players. That's a big credit. And how strong the team is as a ‘we’, even though some very important individuals are missing.”
Arsenal go into the game in second place, 12 points behind league leaders Liverpool, who host Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Wednesday night.
