Fenerbahce have accused Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk of throwing himself to the ground "as if he had been shot" following Wednesday night’s post-match drama.
The Turkish side have released an official statement after their boss, Jose Mourinho, appeared to grab the nose of Okan Buruk.
Tensions were running high between the two Istanbul clubs when Galatasaray knocked Fenerbahce out of the Turkish Cup in a game which saw four red cards.
Buruk dropped to the floor when it happened after full-time and Galatasaray have since accused Mourinho of a physical attack.
Fenerbahce are now claiming Buruk exaggerated, having "provoked" the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager.
Posting on X, the club said: "After our manager momentarily touched his nose in response to these provocations, the person in question threw himself on the ground in an exaggerated manner.
"The disrespectful words and actions of this person, who professionally threw himself to the ground as if he had been shot as a continuation of his planned and excessive provocations, are recorded with images.
"The meaninglessness and the acting of a person who jumps to the ground and writhes for seconds when his nose is touched is known to the entire public."
Two first-half goals from Victor Osimhen helped Galatasaray secure a 2–1 win over their rivals and book their place in the Turkish Cup semi-final.
Galatasaray’s vice-president made his thoughts clear on the Mourinho incident, expecting action to be taken against him.
Metin Ozturk said: "Our manager Okan and Mourinho congratulated the referees. After that, while Okan was continuing, Mourinho first verbally and then physically attacked him."
"Where else in the world can he do this? What does he think of Turkey?
"I believe that Fenerbahce’s management will impose the necessary sanction before the federation does."
It comes just weeks after Galatasaray claimed they would "initiate criminal proceedings", accusing Mourinho of making racist remarks following a clash in the Super Lig.
Following the fallout, he was given a four-game ban and a fine from the Turkish Football Federation.
It is widely reported Mourinho could face further punishment for the latest incident on Wednesday night.
