The American defender is expecting his first child with partner Emily.

The pair took to social media last year to announce they were expecting – and even marked the occasion with a tiny Celtic top with “Baby Trusty 25” written on the back.

And now the former Sheffield United ace has shared another personal moment after he and Emily chose to tie the knot before the baby arrives.

Trusty posted a series of pictures from the ceremony – with a backdrop that looked like Glasgow University – with the simple caption: Husband & Wife.

And fans were quick to congratulate the couple on their big day including DJ and Celtic fan Suzi Maguire who wrote: “Congratulations to you both on such a special day and all the very best with your little one on the way! Wonderful that he/she can play for Scotland one day.”

Other Hoops fans offered their best wishes including the son of former Celtic great John “Yogi” Hughes who wrote: “All the best to you & yours big man”.

Trusty had sat out the recent Celtic derby defeat to Rangers with an injury and was on the bench for last week’s win over Hearts.

He returned to the starting line-up for this afternoon’s clash against St Johnstone when Brendan Rodgers’ side were expected to take a step closer to the title.

But instead they found themselves on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline which means they will possibly have to wait until after the split now before clinching the championship.

And Rodgers was an unhappy man after today’s events at McDiarmid Park.

“Poor start to the game, not the first time. This is something that we will look at, certainly in the summer.  It's mentality.

“It's a group that has mental strength but I've been in teams, especially up here, where you just power your way through the season, right to the very end.”
