Tosin Adarabioyo has revealed the positives Chelsea can take from their drab 0-0 draw with Brentford.
The Blues could not find a way through the Bees' stubborn defence in west London on Sunday, with the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer starting the game on the bench. Reece James and Pedro Neto did force Mark Flekken into making some decent saves but, in truth, both teams never really came close to scoring.
Tosin, having signed on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer, made his 29th appearance of the season against Brentford as he partnered Trevoh Chalobah at the heart of defence. While the 27-year-old was disappointed not to come away with all three points, he was pleased to secure a clean sheet.
"It’s a tough place to come to, so to come away with a clean sheet and a point is a positive that we can take," Tosin told Chelsea's official website.
"Those two [Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa] are a very dynamic duo. They attack you and attack you hard and fast. But I felt we dealt with those combinations. They put 11 men behind the ball and they attacked fast, but we dealt with it well."
The result leaves Chelsea fourth in the Premier League, one point ahead of fifth-placed Manchester City. Up next for the Blues is a Conference League quarter-final tie against Legia Warszawa on Thursday.
"Back-to-back clean sheets are always important, and we'll be hoping to take that into final few games of the season," Tosin said. On the support this season, the defender added: "It was amazing support even at the end where they were clapping and singing for us.
"We got a draw when we wanted the three points, but they were amazing today. We go to Warsaw [on Thursday] and we will hope to get a positive result to take back with us to Stamford Bridge."
