Alan Sheehan lays down challenge to Swansea City players amid training ground 'edge'
The Swans boss spoke ahead of the club's midweek clash with Plymouth Argyle
Alan Sheehan has expressed his enthusiasm for the "edge" he is seeing in Swansea City's training as he challenged his squad to aim to end a tough season on a high note.
Swansea are set to face Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday evening, with a win likely to all-but guarantee them Championship safety, pushing them past the 50-point mark.
Currently, the Swans sit comfortably seven points above the relegation zone in 15th place, having secured 11 points from their last seven league matches since Sheehan stepped up following Luke Williams' departure in February. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.
After beating Derby County, Sheehan is now gearing up for a clash against another relegation-threatened side in the form of the Pilgrims and he has challenged his squad to continue to improve right up until the final day of the season.
"I think there's a really good atmosphere around the place. We are really happy with the level of training - it's challenging and there's a bit of an edge in the air," he said.
"We want to get better, we want to be adaptable and we want to gain confidence from winning in different ways. The lads are so behind it right now.
"I think we have got to be delighted with the win against Derby backing up a wonderful display against Leeds. We have to continue that momentum."

He added: "When I came into this position, if you'd said you'd have the same record as [his last stint in charge], seven games and 11 points, with the run of games coming up, I'd have said 'I'll take that'.
"Now we are here I am very happy and very proud of the players for what they have done so far and know that the challenge is to keep going like this."
