Arsenal supporters all said the same thing after spotting Martin Odegaard's response to Declan Rice's second free-kick goal against Real Madrid.

Rice stunned the current European champions during Tuesday night's Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Emirates Stadium with two extraordinary free-kick goals.

The £100million midfielder put the Gunners ahead in the 58th minute with a beautifully curled free-kick from 30 yards out that bypassed the wall and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. It marked his first direct free-kick goal in a senior career spanning over 400 matches.

Yet, 12 minutes later, before the electrifying N5 crowd could fully comprehend what it had just seen, Rice fired in another spectacular free-kick, this time from five yards closer and to the left of the goal.

The second effort was an even more breathtaking sight, however, as it soared into the top right corner of the net where Courtois was positioned.

After becoming the first player ever to score two free-kicks in a Champions League knockout match, an elated Rice and his team-mates rushed to celebrate with the fans near the corner flag.

However, Gunners captain Odegaard did not join in the celebrations initially. Replay footage showed the playmaker - who had the prime vantage point standing next to Rice over the free-kick - remaining still and simply holding his head in disbelief at what he had just witnessed.

Arsenal fans could fully relate to the Norwegian's reaction, taking to social media to comment on a clip showing Rice's sumptuous second strike. One Gunners supporter wrote on X: "That is off the charts good... Odegaard putting his hands to his head in disbelief says it all."

Another admitted: "This was exactly how I felt watching that second goal go in," while a third chimed in with: "Unreal! Odegaard was all of us."

There were more who couldn't help but express their amazement, commenting: "I don't blame him. It was beautiful," and: "I was in disbelief too."

Odegaard, who often takes Arsenal's free-kicks, albeit without as much success, had told the Englishman to cross the ball into the penalty area instead of shooting prior to his first attempt, as instructed by set-piece coach Nicolas Jover on the touchline.

Rice explained post-match that he ignored his skipper’s advice to great effect, saying: “He was telling me to cross, ‘we’re going to cross to the back post’. I said to Bukayo [Saka] ‘it doesn’t make sense to cross’, the line was too high and to chip the ball like that is hard.”
