Ally McCoist admits he’s ‘nervous’ as Rangers hero scoops live TV interview of a lifetime with Prince William

ALLY McCOIST scooped the interview of a lifetime whilst on Champions League duty tonight - as he chatted to Prince William.
The beaming ex-Rangers striker spent five minutes with the future king on TNT Sports before Aston Villa’s match with Paris Saint-Germain in France.
The Prince of Wales is a huge Villa fan and has been regularly spotted at matches at Villa Park.
But before tonight’s quarter-final in Paris, Prince William was spotted in the tunnel greeting his heroes.
And talkSPORT host McCoist and Rio Ferdinand were honoured to catch five minutes with him before the kick-off.
The beaming presenter said: “I’ve got to say we are absolutely delighted to be joined this evening by His Royal Highness. First of all, are you as nervous as we are.”

He replied: “I am Ally. I’m pretty terrified. It’s been a while coming this so it’s a big game. I’m nervous but also confident and excited.”
McCoist then pointed out that the Prince was born just a month after Villa’s European Cup victory in Rotterdam.
The trio then chatted football and tactics before Prince William tipped Villa to win.
The pundits both backed PSG but McCoist said: “We hope that you are right.”

The pair appear to have developed quite a friendship after McCoist made his way to Windsor to receive an OBE from the Prince of Wales for services to football and broadcasting.
Speaking at the time, McCoist said how proud he was to receive the honour, saying that he already enjoyed a warm relationship with the prince, to whom he had been introduced on a flight to Aberdeen.
He said: “I think the fact that we had met before and chatted before was a good degree of comfort.
“It was great, it was special.
“You sometimes worry – will there be things to say, will there be things to talk about? – but he puts everybody at ease.
“I really enjoyed the couple of minutes’ conversation we had.”
