Beaming Alan Sheehan says his Swansea City side have now answered key question about his reign
The interim Swans boss was left raving as his side eased their way to a 3-0 over Plymouth
Alan Sheehan says Swansea City have now shown what they're all about under his stewardship, with questions still lingering over his long-term future at the club.
Sheehan watched on in delight as his side tore a hapless Plymouth Argyle to shreds at the Swansea.com Stadium on Wednesday night, with first-half goals from Lewis O'Brien, Harry Darling and Josh Key enough to seal a resounding victory.
The only real criticism one could really level at Swansea on the night was that they didn't score more, a point seemingly acknowledged by the Irishman. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.
"That's as complete as you can potentially hope for, on another day we score a few more goals if we're really clinical," he said after the game.
"We wanted to put on a show and we understand how dangerous this game if because they beat Norwich on Saturday.
"Some of our play was top, top level. People keep asking, 'What does an Alan Sheehan team look like?' and I think you've seen how adaptable we are. You see a lot of things that make me really pleased.
"We put in a proper performance, really fast attacking. Aggressive as hell all over the pitch and another clean sheet. These are the foundations we want to build. It was a wonderful performance."
The win opens up a nine-point gap between the Swans and the relegation zone, and barring a monumental collapse, it seems almost certain that they will be hosting Championship football once again next season.
However, Sheehan is confident his side won't take their foot off the gas, or allow complacency to set in.
"We haven't seen it yet," he added. "In the last eight games, I don't think you can say that complacency is a word you can associate with this group of players.
"But now we have to dust ourselves down after tonight. It's a really positive night for the football club. Everyone's going home positive, which is wonderful.
"But I think the overall feeling for me is pride, because I really enjoyed watching my team tonight and as a manager, that's all you can ask for."

The closer Swansea get to securing their survival, the more questions over his future will likely intensify, but Sheehan says he remains focused on finishing the season strongly.
"When they gave me the job of head coach it's a duty of care to the football club to make sure that we were in the league and that's what my duty of care is.
"I don't think about me. I don't think about what's best for me. I think about what's best for the football.
"That's all I want to do every single game and make everybody proud. Whatever happens at the end of the season is irrelevant really because as long as my conscience is clear and I've done the best job for this football club. I'm good with that either way."
