Arsenal have been in pursuit of a striker for the past 12 months, and Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the latest news with their transfer dealings
There has been one goal for Mikel Arteta from the moment he walked through the doors at Arsenal: win the Premier League.
The Gunners have twice fallen short to Manchester City and they looked to be set to do so again with Liverpool just four wins away from their second Premier League crown. It has to be a big summer for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.
And Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the transfer stories surrounding the Gunners over the past 24 hours.
Arsenal cool Alexander Isak interest
Arsenal have been long since linked with Newcastle star Alexander Isak, after reports that the Magpies might have to sell to meet PSR guidelines. However, they now appear to have cooled their interest.
It appears the chase for the super Swede may soon be cut short with no club willing to test Newcastle's resolve as the Magpies hold all the cards for the deal.
According to The i Paper, private meetings with some of his players were held earlier in the season with concern that reports of moves away from Newcastle may have caught some eyes.
In these meetings, Eddie Howe made it clear he expects loyalty from his side, telling players they must respect the badge and the club behind it.
Going head-to-head with Liverpool
Arsenal are set to go head-to-head with Liverpool with Igor Paixao, who has been a standout performer at Feyenoord.
The 24-year-old has already contributed 27 goals and assists this season with the Gunners, as per Caught Offside, believing he could bring a significant goal-scoring threat to their squad if they manage to secure his signature.
Arsenal suffer Nico Williams blow
Arsenal have also looked to secure the signature of Nico Williams - following him for an extended period.
However, Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of his services with, as per a report from Estadio Deportivo, there is now a good chance that Williams could spend the rest of his career at Bilbao.
The Basque club are eager to secure his long-term future and are reportedly keen on offering him a lifetime contract.
