Christian Borchgrevnik agrees Hearts transfer as Valerenga skipper solves Neil Critchley problem
The 25-year-old will arrive at Tynecastle for an undisclosed fee when the transfer window opens in June
Christian Borchgrevnik is the first new face to sign up at Hearts for the 2025/26 campaign.
The right back will put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Tynecastle this summer and will arrive in the capital from Valerenga for an undisclosed fee when the transfer window opens in June.
The Norwegian outfit's skipper has made 125 appearances for the club, scoring 9 goals and racking up 27 assists.
He'll solve what has been a bit of a problem position for Neil Critchley this season.
Costa Rican loan star Gerald Taylor is out with another injury, having missed most of the season thanks to a knee ligament issue suffered early on in the campaign.
Youngster Adam Forrester has deputised, but his form has been up and down as he adapts to first team football.
Critchley said: "I’m really happy that we’re going to be adding a player of Christian’s calibre to our squad next season.
“He has all the attributes I associate with being a Hearts player; he’s strong, athletic, talented and a leader on the pitch.
“He’s got a good pedigree, having played at a high level in Norway, and while he will bring his qualities to the team, we feel that we can provide an environment where he can get even better.
“Christian will, I’m sure, continue to give his all for Valerenga where he is very highly regarded, and come the summer I’m looking forward to welcoming him to Hearts.”
Borchgrevnik himself added: "It's a great opportunity for me and a blessing to come here.
"I think the playing style, and also the city and the fans will suit me well.
"I'm looking forward to what's to come."
