Mega Kyogo claim forces Rennes boss to deliver eyebrow-raising answer about a toiling Celtic hero
The Japanese hitman was a massive success at Parkhead before his surprise £10 million move to France in January.
Rennes boss Habib Beye insists former Celtic hero Kyogo Furuhashi is an 'integral' part of his squad - despite almost ignoring him since he took charge.
The Japanese hitman was a massive success at Parkhead before his surprise £10million move to France in January.
But he's made next to no impact in Ligue 1 and has barely featured at all for Rennes, starting just once and either being an unused sub or playing minimal amounts of minutes.
He's already been tipped for a summer move away from Rennes, but manager Beye has stressed that Kyogo is still a big part of his plans.
He said: "Even if he doesn't get the minutes he would like, he is an integral part of my squad.
"Kyogo's lack of playing time doesn't mean he doesn't meet my expectations, otherwise he wouldn't be in the squad and he wouldn't come on as a sub.
"He's a quality player and he will bring something to the team, I'm convinced of that."
