Tottenham Hotspur slumped to another defeat on Sunday at the hands of Wolves, leaving them 15th in the Premier League and increasing the pressure on Ange Postecoglou.
Rayan Ait-Nouri put Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead within five minutes and just before halftime Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario parried the ball into a helpless Djed Spence, who it bounced off for an own goal.
Mathys Tel showed why Spurs want to keep him this summer as he tried to inspire a comeback along with Rciharlison, but further defensive errors meant the match ended 4-2 to Wolves.

Though he has guided Spurs to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, fan criticism of Postecoglou is growing and their dismal Premier League form is sparking questions over his future at the club.
Shaka Hislop speaks on clueless Spurs
Former Newcastle United and West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop laid into Postecoglou’s side on the ESPN YouTube channel, describing their league record as “absolutely ridiculous.”
“(Wolves v Spurs) was pure car crash TV. It absolutely was. You had no idea what was going to happen from one minute to the next from a Spurs perspective.
“Spurs are just so poor in every single department. There’s no sense of organisation, nobody’s taking any responsibility. You understand the pressure that Postecoglou is under, you’re looking for a response.”
Reflecting on in-form defender Djed Spence‘s unfortunate own goal, Hislop said: “The second goal kind of summed up so much about Spurs and the position that Postecoglou is in.
“The look on Djed Spence’s face walking back from that goal just spelt defeat, spelt: nobody has any idea what’s going on, nobody has any idea what to do, how to fix it, what comes next.”
Though some have argued Europa League victory could save Postecoglou, Hislop thinks his time is up. Host Dan Thomas asked him whether Postecoglou’s sacking would come even if Spurs won the Europa League, to which the ex-keeper replied: “The only question right now is does Daniel Levy even wait til Thursday. I think he does – but to your point, that’s the only debate.
“The debate is not whether Postecoglou is going to be manager for Spurs next season, it really isn’t. We’ve gone way past that now.”
Ange Postecoglou’s damning 24/25 stats
The stats from this Premier League campaign make tough reading for Ange Postecoglou. Sunday’s loss marks the most defeats (17) that Spurs have suffered in a single top-flight season for 21 years, and they are the only side outside the relegation zone to have lost 10 or more away games.
Possibly even more damning for Postecoglou is the comparison between his record and that of Mauricio Pochettino, who managed Spurs from 2014 to 2019. The Argentine lost 16 league games across three Premier League campaigns from 2015 to 2018; Postecoglou has now lost 17 this season alone.
