REPORT: CHELSEA SLUMP TO POOR DEFEAT BUT REACH SEMIS
A listless Chelsea were booed off the pitch after reaching the UEFA Conference League semi-finals in a wretched 2-1 home defeat to Legia Warszaw at Stamford Bridge.
After coasting to a 3-0 win in the first leg in Poland a week ago, Enzo Maresca fielded a strong line-up for the return leg, but the home fans were stunned when the tournament favourites fell behind early on.
Tomas Pekhart converted a penalty on 10 minutes after picking himself up off the ground from an ill-advised diving challenge by home goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.
Chelsea seemed to have settled matters down when Marc Cucurella netted the equaliser from close range on 33 minutes after a fine cross by Jadon Sancho.
But the Premier League side failed to raise the pace in the second half and were duly punished as Legia struck a merited winner on the night via Steve Kapuadi's header on 53 minutes with the home defence all over the place.
It was Legia's historic first win in England after two draws and two defeats in European competition as they restore pride from last week in exiting 4-2 over the two legs.
But Chelsea clearly have work to do before they face Djurgarden in the last four later this month as they chase a sixth European trophy in the past 13 years.

MARC CUCURELLA ON CHELSEA DEFEAT TO LEGIA
"I think the most important thing is that we are in the semi-final," he told TNT Sports. "We fight to play in the final of this European competition.
"We created chances today, didn't score and concede easy goals, but we are in the most important moment of the season, so we have to stay together.
"On Sunday, we have another important [Premier League] game [at Fulham] so we have to fight for the three points.
"Now we need to stay together, and we know we can finish in the Champions League positions and reach the final of a European competition.
"Now is not the time to complain. It is not a good night for us, but the most important thing is the opportunity to play the semi-finals."

THERE GOES THE FINAL WHISTLE!
The boos ring out around Stamford Bridge. Chelsea go through to the semi-finals 4-2 on aggregate, but an unconvincing 2-1 defeat on the night does not go down well with the Chelsea fans. Poor stuff really in this second leg. But the tournament favourites are through.

HEADING FOR FOUR ADDED MINUTES
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca looks a bit perplexed on the touchline. Fielded a strong side tonight, but has been a very poor performance all things considered. Will need to improve to reach the final you suspect.

FRANTIC DEFENDING BY LEGIA
Determined it seems to leave the UK capital with the victory tonight as they do superbly well to hack out the Neto cross after a fine probing run.

NOT A GREAT GAME FROM JORGENSEN..
He has been very unconvincing this evening. Which has not helped the Chelsea rearguard. Still 2-1 to Legia heading for the final 20 minutes or so.
