Manchester United are expected to make major moves in the summer transfer window after a disappointing Premier League campaign.
The Reds are currently languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table and Ruben Amorim has been unable to rally the troops at Old Trafford. Several new faces are expected in the United squad by the time the season starts in August.
But to do that, United will need to look at selling players. In our latest look at the media headlines, MEN Sport gives its take on two players who are currently facing uncertain futures at the club.
Garnacho's preferred future
According to TEAMtalk, United winger Alejandro Garnacho would prefer a move to La Liga if he is to leave the Reds in the summer. It is thought that Garnacho would eventually like to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and sign for Real Madrid.
However, his only option in Spain at present is their rivals Atletico Madrid. Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly keen on the Argentine along with the mainstay interest from Napoli and Chelsea.
It has been reported that United would accept bids in the region of between £50-70m in the summer. During January, the Reds rejected a bid in the region of £40m from Napoli for Garnacho.
What MEN Sport says: "There is definitely a talented player in Garnacho and perhaps Ineos are to blame for this, but the youngster will not flourish in Amorim's system. He needs to be in a team who will relish a winger. United are not currently that team. He does not fit into the no.10 roles behind the loan striker nor is he a wing-back so maybe the best option for the Reds is to sell him and use that money on players who do fit the system better."
Hojlund plan
According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, there is currently no plan to sell Rasmus Hojlund this summer. The journalist did claim that plan could change but due to the amount United would need to receive to avoid a loss on the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), a loss would almost be guaranteed.
Instead, the Reds could look to sell Joshua Zirkzee who would require a smaller fee to avoid a PSR loss. However, Ornstein notes that the Dutchman has played better as the season wore on.
What MEN Sport says: "United have very little choice but to keep Hojlund this summer. At 22, the Dane is certainly not a lost cause yet. He could still come good but he has not benefitted from being the top man at United this early in his career. The comparisons to Erling Haaland were unfair before he even kicked a ball in the Premier League but in the Europa League, Hojlund has shown signs of what he can do. Ultimately though, the priority should be to sign at least one striker who can provide not only competition but respite for Hojlund."
