Sverre Nypan breaks silence as he responds to Aston Villa transfer
Aston Villa are said to be trying to sign Rosenborg talent Sverre Nypan
Sverre Nypan has responded to Aston Villa transfer links.
Villa are said to be working to sign the highly-rated Norwegian midfielder.
The 18-year-old is thought to have attracted interest from top clubs across Europe and in the Premier League, including Arsenal and Manchester City.
It is believed Villa are now looking to finalise an agreement with his club Rosenborg after receiving encouragement to proceed from Nypan.
Nypan has now been asked directly about a move to Villa this summer and he said: “I can’t say anything about it.”
Pressed on claims he has held talks with Unai Emery and Monchi, Nypan added: "Nothing is clear, so there is nothing to comment on."
It is thought Arsenal had been leading the race to sign Nypan back in January.
Nypan is considered as one of the brightest prospects in Europe and it would be a coup if Villa were to land him this summer.
He made his Rosenborg debut in November 2022, when he started in a league match against Jerv.
In doing so, he became the youngest player ever to represent Rosenborg at 15 years and 322 days old.
In May of last year, Nypan scored his first goal for Rosenborg against Bodø/Glimt in the Eliteserien, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to score in a league match aged 16 years and 145 days old.
