Liverpool transfer news: Wing wizard on Arne Slot shortlist as midfield duo give answer
Liverpool are heading towards a record-equalling 20th league title but English football's most successful club aren't resting on their laurels under Arne Slot
Liverpool look set to cement their position as English football's most successful club with a record-equalling 20th league title.
Many pundits and fans predicted the Merseyside giants would struggle following the departure of the legendary Jurgen Klopp. But their golden era has continued, with new manager Arne Slot just two victories away from winning the Premier League in a stunning debut season for the Dutchman.
That achievement would see Liverpool match Manchester United's record of 20 league titles - having already held the advantage over their bitter rivals in terms of major trophies won. The Reds' astonishing trophy cabinet includes six European cups compared to United's three.
But Slot isn't resting on his laurels and neither is the club's sporting director Richard Hughes, despite securing new contracts for the Premier League's top goalscorer Mohamed Salah and iconic defender Virgil van Dijk - who says the club are in for a "big summer" of transfers. Here's all the latest transfer news from Anfield.
Wing wizard
Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman could leave the Bundesliga giants this summer as they look to rejuvenate their squad with "fresh blood".
German journalist Christian Falk says Coman - who has played at the Allianz Arena for the last decade, primarily deployed on the left flank despite being right-footed - is admired by Liverpool.
The 28-year-old French international has amassed 69 goals in 330 appearances for Bayern, but only has one year left on his £280,000-a-week contract.
Falk said: "The bosses want fresh blood for the squad. That’s why Kingsley Coman is to be sold. In the meantime, Arsenal’s interest has also become more concrete, and Liverpool also have him on their list."
Coman won 11 league titles in a row from 2012-2023 at Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern - an astonishing record ended by Bayer Leverkusen last season.
Liverpool duo give Real Madrid answers
Neither of Liverpool's star midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch are interested in moves to Real Madrid.
The engine room of Slot's team has dominated Premier League midfields all season, but its key men have both found themselves linked to the Spanish giants in recent weeks.
Gravenberch's agent Jose Fortes not only claimed his client was "good enough" to play for Real Madrid, but added: "We would love for him to play for them."
But it's now said he was speaking of the Bernabeu from his own point of view as a dream destination and the 22-year-old is "going nowhere".
Meanwhile, Mac Allister's dad Carlos fuelled speculation about the 26-year-old's ambitions with an open-ended interview. The former Argentine international was then forced to row back on his comments.
He said: "Alexis has a contract with Liverpool until 2028 and is happy at the club and we hope he will continue there."
Teen prodigy may move abroad
Southampton prodigy Tyler Dibling has delivered four goals and two assists in the Premier League this season, despite the relegated Saints set to tumble back down to the Championship.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been linked with Liverpool in the past, but according to Florian Plettenberg at Sky Sport in Germany, both Bayern Munich and Red Bull Leipzig are interested him, with the latter currently ahead in the race.
Dibling is reportedly open to moving to the Bundesliga and the transfer fee would fall way below the estimates that have been reported so far as "figures around €70–80m [£60m-£70m] are wide of the mark".
