Jurgen Klopp Real Madrid update as agent of former Liverpool boss speaks out
The latest Liverpool news as the manager has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent days.
The agent of former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has appeared to play down talk of his client becoming manager of Real Madrid in the summer.
Klopp has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu amid uncertainty over the future of Carlo Ancelotti.
Klopp left Liverpool just over a year ago, and started a new job as head of global soccer at Red Bull in the new year. In recent days, it’s been reported that the Liverpool great has been targeted by Real Madrid.
Some reports even suggested that the German was ready for talks with the Spanish giants, having grown ‘unsatisfied’ with his role at Red Bull. However, in the latest update that appears to have been dismissed.
Speaking to Sky Germany, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke said: “Jurgen is very happy with his new rile as head of global soccer at Red Bull.”
Klopp is said to currently be directly involved in discussions over the appointment of a new head coach at Red Bull Leipzig.
The report adds tat the manager continues to receive concrete interest and inquiries from top clubs around Europe.
He, however is said to have no current plans to take on a head coach position next season.
That fits with recent comments from the man himself just last month. "The last thing I am thinking about actually is to be a manager again," he said at an event in South Africa (via Kickoff).
"I coached 1,081 games. I lost absolutely each final available. Some of them I won as well.
"And, no, I'm in a happy place. If I wasn't the manager of Liverpool FC, I wouldn't be here today. So thank God."
