Mohamed Salah has previously picked out Kevin De Bruyne, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as players he would have loved to have shared the pitch with during his career. The 'Egyptian King' has recently committed his future to Liverpool with a fresh two-year contract, quelling speculations of an exit after this season.

Salah has scored 243 goals and provided 112 assists for Liverpool to date and is two wins away from a second Premier League trophy with the club. And thanks to his efforts, he will go down as one of the league's greatest-ever players, alongside the likes of De Bruyne and Ronaldo for their stints with their respective Mancunian clubs. As for Messi, his illustrious career bejewelled with eight Ballon d'Ors, 12 league triumphs, and four Champions League trophies with powerhouses Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Miami, cements him as a global legend.

In 2023, speaking to Sky Sports, Salah revealed his dream team-mates: "Messi or Ronaldo, but if I pick one in the Premier League then I'd choose Kevin. He has vision, I'm sure he can find me anywhere with the ball so I would say Messi, Ronaldo and then Kevin.

"He's a great player, the whole team (City) is great. But I just try to play my game and not focus on anyone else." After emerging from Genk's youth ranks, De Bruyne enjoyed a brief spell at Chelsea before VfL Wolfsburg snatched him up, eventually leading to Pep Guardiola securing his signature in 2015 for Manchester City in a blockbuster £54.5million deal.

Over the past decade, De Bruyne has become a pivotal figure at the Etihad Stadium, netting an impressive 107 goals along with a remarkable 177 assists. His silverware haul features six Premier League trophies and nine domestic cup victories, complemented by a coveted Champions League title.

However, the now 33-year-old recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt revelation about deciding that the 2024/25 season will mark his swansong as a member of the Sky Blues. In his poignant post earlier this month, De Bruyne said: "Dear Manchester. Seeing this, you probably realise where this is heading. So I'll get straight to it and let you all know that these will be my final months as a Manchester City player.

"Nothing about this is easy to write, but as football players, we all know this day eventually comes. That day is here - and you deserve to hear it from me first. Football led me to all of you - and to this city. Chasing my dream, not knowing this period would change my life.

"This city. This club. These people... gave me EVERYTHING. I had no choice but to give EVERYTHING back! And guess what - we won EVERYTHING. Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye. Suri, Rome, Mason, Michele and I are beyond grateful for what this place has meant to our family. 'Manchester' will forever be on our kids' passports - and more importantly, in each of our hearts.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a Manchester United hero

"This will always be our HOME. We cannot thank the city, club, staff, team-mates, friends, and family enough for this 10-year ride. Every story comes to an end, but this has definitely been the best chapter. Let's enjoy these last moments together! Much love, KDB 17."

Messi and Ronaldo, on the other hand, are seen as two of the most prestigious players of their time, frequently sparking debates about who is the true GOAT. Ronaldo, enjoyed a six-year stint with Manchester United between 2003 and 2009, before returning for one last dance in 2021 after an incredible tenure with Real Madrid.

Even at 40, he shows no sign of fading, continuing his formidable presence in front of goal with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Similarly, Salah, though a junior to Ronaldo at 32, remains relentless on the pitch.

His tally of 27 goals in the Premier League this season alone has been pivotal to Liverpool's title chase with new manager Arne Slot at the helm. Currently, the Reds stand a mighty 13 points clear of Arsenal in second place, with only six matches remaining.
