Referee Samuel Barrott had to pull both sides apart

Tensions were already sky-high after referee Samuel Barrott sent Palace star Chris Richards off with a controversial second booking in first half injury time.

After a quiet first 45 minutes, Barrott had dished out SEVEN yellow cards, with barely a serious tackle made by either side.

But tempers instantly boiled over at the start of the second half in South East London.

Kluivert - back after three games out with injury - stuck his leg out to foul right-back Daniel Munoz in the 46th minute.

The Cherries playmaker immediately rose to his feet and began pleading the fifth, before trying to restart the game.

But Sarr was standing over Kluviert, who was cheekily trying to play on.

Kluivert, 25, then pulled down Sarr's shorts in shocking scenes.

Cameras showed a shocked Sarr turning to the ref with his black pair of boxers on full display.

An angry Sarr confronted Kluivert, before both players began pushing and shoving each other, as Barrott blew his whistle again.

Their team mates pulled them apart, before the Bournemouth star ran off muttering to himself across the pitch.

Kluivert was also involved in the first half drama, as Richards had pulled him down for his second bookable offence.

Replays showed the contact was pretty tame and Kluivert certainly made the most of it.

But the main point of contention will surely be that Alex Scott avoided a second yellow in very similar circumstances just 10 minutes before that.

The referee appeared to tell Scott he would have one more chance and then be sent off.

It was the third Palace red card in the last two games at Selhurst Park.

Eddie Nketiah, Marc Guehi and Brighton's Jan Paul van Hecke were all sent off in the London club's 2-1 win a few two weeks ago.

Oliver Glasner's side became the first in Premier League history to win a home game having received two red cards that day.

And he avoided defeat today, with the scoreline staying goalless.
